Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child was born into a family in South London. She has a father who is Nigerian as well as Swiss and her mom is English. She was raised on a council estate located south of London. At the age 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She studied acting in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. While attending the school, she appeared in numerous stage plays, including the King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. Since then, she's been a guest star for Teachers, Doctors, Casualty as well as Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. After this success, Madekwe played Elisha on The BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as in six episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. In the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl saw her in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe played the lead role on How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others. The comedy that was released in the year 2008. Her credits in theatre are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams and Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009, with her dramatic The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes before being ended on The CW. In February, she was cast 2011, as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe was a regular in the drama series on ABC Revenge for two seasons. It was revealed in May 2013 that she was set to leave the series after making one guest appearance on the first series of the 3rd. In 2014 and 2016, she starred in the role of Tituba the television series Salem. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg is also a part of the cast on the TV show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was raised in a huge family living in Hamilton, Ontario. Her four older brothers were also present and included twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley lived in stadiums or baseball fields because her brothers, who were all athletic, played baseball, hockey, and both in the summer and winter. Ashley never actually walked -she did dance, so at age 2 1/2 years old she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love. Ashley became a dancer from that moment. Ashley competed in top-level divisions in jazz, tap hip-hop, ballet the lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe, until she finished high school. She won the top individualist in all the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
